Assessing residents to determine activities that are appropriate for their needs and interest. Providing and encouraging resident(s) to participate in activities that stimulate and promote resident interest, communication, and general well being. Coordinating the activity program with volunteers and other groups, taking into account already established routines in order to fit the activity program into the facility's overall pattern. Planning special events, parties, entertainment, games, and crafts; encourages residents to assist as appropriate. Maintaining a pleasant and cheerful nursing home environment by helping with seasonal decorations, decorate bulletin boards, and assist residents in displaying personal items in their rooms. Assisting in finding methods to motivate residents to take an interest in life and the community. Supervising the overall activity programs, providing special attention to residents in the group that need it. Seeing that the activity area is in good order before and after each activity. Job
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D certificate Graduate of Activity Director Course as required by state Two years in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one of which was full time in a patient program in a health care setting Experience in various activities and handicrafts Verbal and written communication skills
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Healthcare ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
